Membership Criteria:

The Parish Council are elected representatives of the local area.  The elections are held every four years.

There are no fees associated with being a Parish Councillor.



Hanbury Parish Council holds regular meetings and your councillors are there to represent the interests of the parish on a variety of issues which include planning matters and  elements of maintenance in the parish (some through employment of Parish Lengthsman), a well as management of the Recreational Ground, road safety and the general well being of the parish.

Hanbury Parish Council welcome members of the public to their meetings. It is an opportunity for parishioners and others to find out what topics are being discussed and what decisions are being made on their behalf.

At the beginning of every meeting, members of the public have the opportunity to voice an opinion or ask a question of the Councillors. During the rest of the meeting members of the public are not allowed to be part of the meeting and are not allowed to vote on agenda items.

Very occasionally, members of the public may be asked to leave for certain items on the agenda.
